One of our clients is looking for a Maintenance Foreman who will be responsible for the plant preventive maintenance, repair or replacement of plant equipment and systems, ensure optimum performance of branch & unit equipment, while supporting the policies, goals and objectives of the company. Responsible also for planning and execution of maintenance programmes to ensure optimum equipment availability and performance thereof.

 

Develops maintenance programs such as the Maintenance Management Program, Preventive Maintenance, organization, worker level job structure, manpower utilization and construction equipment requirements and utilization.

Appraises and prepares reports on the effectiveness of such programs.

Ensures fire safety equipment (fire alarm system, smoke detectors, fire extinguishers, etc.) are operational and that inspections are current, and forwards inspection reports to Maintenance Manager.

Work to improve routine, extraordinary, and turnaround maintenance, equipment and piping inspections, spare parts availability, company maintenance, and similar activities.

Adjusts controls on mechanical systems to meet required Company standards.

 Identify and correct problems using root cause failure analysis to find and correct problems with mechanical designs and installations.

Performs scheduled maintenance inspections and repairs as directed in the maintenance manual.

Implement the plant preventive and predictive maintenance programs, and maintenance integrity programs and make sure documentation is kept up to date.

Performs preventative maintenance and other tasks as assigned per the maintenance manual.

Monitor plant performance and drive proactive continuous improvement of maintenance work practices and procedures.

Work to prepare the maintenance budget, and control spending throughout the year.

Participate in objective setting, plan development and performance review of plant performance.

Initiates, implements, and manages the plant maintenance program based on best practices in the retail industry, with an emphasis on planning/scheduling and preventive/predictive maintenance.

Monitors the use, inventories of spare parts, maintenance supplies, and equipment, and initiates reordering when necessary.

Prepares reports, analyzes data, and makes recommendations for improving plant operations and solving maintenance-related problems.

Ensures that maintenance technicians are adequately trained, equipped, and motivated so that the maintenance program can be accomplished in a safe, timely, and cost-effective manner

Communicates regularly with all maintenance technicians, both individually and as a group, to ensure good two-way communication concerning maintenance issues.

Higher National Diploma in Engineering (specialising in refrigeration) and 5 years experience
